Basim AlSaie

Basim Mohamed AlSaie currently serves as Chairman of Bahrain Food Holding Company (Ghitha), a national food holding company established to consolidate and strengthen Bahrain's agri-food sector. In this role, he also chairs Bahrain Flour Mills and serves as Vice Chairman of Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill (GARMCO). His background includes leading complex restructuring efforts, collaborating with global M&A advisors, and navigating governance and stakeholder engagement, positioning him to guide Ghitha's strategic direction and long-term value creation.

AlSaie holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Boston University (1983–1987), and has completed executive education at Harvard Business School Executive Education and INSEAD. He is known in Bahrain's business community as a member of the executive committee of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and an active member of the Entrepreneurship Organization Bahrain Chapter.

AlSaie played a key role in the establishment of Installux Gulf, a joint venture with a French group focused on architectural aluminium products for the Middle East. He launched Polycon Bahrain, focused on the production of polyethylene water storage tanks, and established Rentech Middle East, specializing in alternative energy and environmental solutions. AlSaie has played leading roles in strategic thinking, business transformation, expansion strategies, green initiatives, and managing complex business reorganization.
