Al Harmouzi earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Marketing Management from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, USA in 1981. He began his career as a graduate trainee at ARIG (Arab Insurance Group) and remained with the firm from 1981 to 1996, building relationships with industry stakeholders across assignments in Bahrain and London.
