Geanell C. Adams

Dr. Geanell C. Adams, EdD, FAPR, RMR, CRR, CRC, CRI, was installed as a Board Director at the National Court Reporters Association in July 2026, serving a three-year term. Adams began her career in 2002 as an official and freelancer, then became a court reporting instructor, broadcast captioner, and CART captioner. She is currently an official for the state of Mississippi Fourth Judicial Chancery District and an adjunct instructor for Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi.

Adams holds a Doctorate of Higher Education, Education Specialist; Master of Community and Economic Development; Master of Business Administration in Healthcare Administration and Human Resource Management; Bachelor of Arts in Political Science; and an Associate degree in Court Reporting from Prince Institute of Professional Studies. She has been a member of NCRA for more than 20 years and is dedicated to the evolution of stenographic court reporting through education and technology.

She was named a Fellow of the Academy of Professional Reporters (FAPR) in 2024 and has been a frequent presenter at NCRA's Conference & Expo.
