Dr. Vishal Patel

Dr. Vishal Patel is a board-certified critical care doctor in Naples, FL, currently practicing at Meliora Healthcare. Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Patel obtained his medical degree in 2006 from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine, and completed his residency training in Internal Medicine in 2009. He completed a fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine in 2012 at Mt. Sinai Morningside and West in New York City, and has earned his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and is licensed to practice medicine in Florida.

Specializing in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine, Dr. Patel has a particular interest in lung nodules, the diagnosing and staging of lung cancer, pleural diseases, interstitial lung diseases, obstructive airway diseases, and bronchiectasis. Most notably, Dr. Patel spearheaded the establishment of the ACGME-accredited Pulmonary & Critical Care fellowship training program at Naples Community Hospital in 2022 and served as its inaugural Program Director.

Dr. Patel has been involved in the development of several training and research protocols and has published numerous papers in several academic journals. He served on the Zero-Harm Task Force for NCH as well as the NPG Quality Committee, and in 2023 was a nominee for the Naples Community Hospital Physician of the Year. As an active member of the American College of Chest Physicians and American Thoracic Society, Dr. Patel has stayed at the forefront of Pulmonary and Critical Care in Naples, FL, bringing the latest knowledge and techniques to patient care.
