Egypt’s CIB announces Neveen Sabbour as 1st female Chair and Tony Prestedge as Executive Advisor.

The Commercial International Bank in Egypt, has hired veteran transformation banker Tony Prestedge as an Executive Advisor to its Board of Directors. Prestedge previously served as a Group Board Member, Executive Director and Deputy CEO of Nationwide Building Society, where he was noted for his leadership of group strategy and sustainability, digital transformation, channel and project management, and venturing. He later moved to Santander UK, where as Deputy Chief Executive and Executive Director, he took charge of the bank’s private banking and consumer finance businesses. Leveraging these experiences, Prestedge is expected to “accelerate CIB’s transformation from traditional financial services into simple and accessible solutions for its customers”.

Upon joining CIB, Prestedge will relinquish his current standing at London-headquartered management and technology consultancy Capco, where he has served as global head of banking and payments since March this year. In announcing its new advisor, CIB also disclosed the appointment of Neveen Sabbour to Non-Executive Chair. Neveen brings extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, business strategy, banking transformation, financial planning, and information systems management. She joined the CIB board as a non-executive member in March 2023 and currently holds positions on the boards of several financial and industrial institutions. The bank also announced the reappointment of Hisham Ezz Al-Arab to CEO and Board Member.
