Joseph Lataille

Joseph Lataille was appointed SIUE Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration on August 18, 2025. Lataille brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic financial leadership, operational innovation, and cross-sector collaboration to the University. Throughout his career, he has led complex organizations through growth and change with a focus on aligning operations with long-term strategy, including major reforms in budgeting, human resources, facilities management, and public-private partnerships. In his role as Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administration at SIUE, Lataille provides executive oversight of the University's financial operations, human resources, facilities management, campus police, and key administrative services.

Lataille holds a Master of Public Administration from The George Washington University, where he focused on nonprofit management, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from The College of William & Mary. Before his most recent roles, he worked as a sales executive with an international defense firm responsible for supporting business development and served in the Peace Corps in Jordan where he taught English and conducted teacher training in various settings.

Lataille is known for his ability to build high-performing teams, lead multi-million-dollar capital improvement projects, and implement innovative solutions to complex financial and operational challenges. As CFO at USIP, Lataille oversaw substantial growth and a complex financial system conversion, reforming processes, building efficiencies, and improving internal controls, and served as Acting President and CEO during a critical transition period in 2020.
