Neuberger Berman bolsters MENA presence with new equities team in Dubai

Neuberger Berman is expanding its presence in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) by hiring a dedicated regional equities investment team.

The new team is led by Walid Mourad (pictured) Managing Director - Head of MENA Equities, who brings more than 20 years of investment experience. Mourad joins from Lazard Asset Management, where he led the MENA equities business in Dubai for nearly 12 years.

He is joined by Shouq Al-Shahrani, Vice President – Equity Analyst, who has over seven years of experience and was previously a VP–portfolio analyst at Lazard Asset Management and Alpha Capital.

Emad El-Hage, Senior VP – Portfolio Manager, also joins the firm after serving as investment manager for GCC and MENA internal equities at the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA). Over his 11-year career, he has held roles at PwC and Arqaam Capital.

Tarek Sleiman, Senior VP – Equity Analyst, brings more than 12 years of experience, including seven years at J.P. Morgan as executive director and equity research analyst, and earlier roles at Credit Libanais Bank and Arqaam Capital.

An additional equity analyst is expected to join later this year. Collectively, the team brings more than 50 years of experience investing in MENA equities.
