Mashreq Appoints Tushar Vikram as Country Head and CEO of India

Mashreq Bank has announced the appointment of Tushar Vikram as its new Country Head and CEO of India, effective June 2024. Vikram, a seasoned business banker with a career spanning three decades, will lead Mashreq’s operations in India, driving the strategic direction and growth for the bank in the country.

Tushar Vikram brings a wealth of experience to his new role at Mashreq. Prior to this appointment, Vikram served as the Group Head of Investment Banking at HDFC Bank, where he was responsible for leading key divisions such as Project Finance, Equity, Debt Capital Markets, and Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A). His tenure at HDFC Bank was marked by significant achievements in expanding the bank’s investment banking footprint and managing complex financial transactions.

Before his successful stint at HDFC Bank, Vikram spent an impressive 27 years at Citibank. During his tenure at Citibank, he held various senior roles across different domains, including Commercial Bank, Investment and Structured Finance, Digitization, Credit Processes, and Risk Management. His diverse experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of the banking industry and the ability to drive innovative solutions and strategic growth.

Vikram holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce from Delhi University and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. His academic background and professional credentials underscore his expertise in financial management and strategic planning.
