Edmond de Rothschild has promoted Laith Al Kurdi who was the Head of Private Banking for Middle East to Senior Executive Officer of the bank’s DIFC branch following the departure of Ali Raza, who had led the MENA business and was SEO, a role he was given last year when EdR received its Category 4 advisory licence. Al Kurdi’s appointment ensures continuity of operations. Before this role, he was a Managing Director and Senior Adviser at Julius Baer for over five years, based in Dubai. He also worked at ABN Amro before an almost-four-year stint at Coutts in Dubai and Singapore, and a three-year chapter at UBS.
