Global investment firm Bain Capital has opened a new office in Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), marking a significant expansion of its presence in the Middle East.
The Abu Dhabi hub will anchor Bain Capital’s regional strategy, built to strengthen capital formation efforts with long‑standing Middle Eastern investors; support the expansion of select portfolio companies into the region; and evaluate future direct investment opportunities as markets mature.
The firm will focus on sectors aligned with regional economic priorities, including aviation, healthcare, digital infrastructure and financial technology.
Tom Sargeant, partner and head of APAC and Middle East investor relations, said that many of the region’s leading institutions have been long-term investors in Bain Capital funds.
‘Those relationships have grown over time into broader strategic collaboration. The Abu Dhabi office strengthens our ability to work side-by-side with partners across the region,’ he added.
The new office follows Bain Capital’s partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) under the emirate’s FIDA cluster, supporting the development of next‑generation financial infrastructure.
The firm currently operates 24 offices across four continents, employs more than 1,900 people and manages approximately $215bn in assets.
Abu Dhabi is attracting a growing wave of global asset managers, with firms increasingly choosing the emirate as their regional base to access the Middle East’s expanding pools of institutional capital.
Abu Dhabi’s focus on next‑generation finance and alternative investments is accelerating the momentum, positioning the city as a preferred platform for both fundraising and deployment across the GCC and beyond.
