K&R Places Mitch Poindexter as Chief Executive Officer of Climalock

Mitch Poindexter has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Climalock, a Warsaw, Missouri-based manufacturer of custom insulated containment systems serving fire protection, water and wastewater, agriculture, bioenergy, chemical storage, and industrial markets across the United States and Canada. The appointment, facilitated by executive search firm Kincannon & Reed, comes as the 13-year-old company navigates a critical founder transition while pursuing geographic and market expansion.

Reporting to Climalock's Board of Directors, Poindexter will be tasked with building organizational infrastructure to scale the business, driving commercial expansion, and managing the succession from founder-led operations. Patrick Fitzgerald, Managing Director at Kincannon & Reed, noted that Climalock sought a leader capable of "balancing strategic growth with operational discipline while earning the trust of a highly experienced workforce and founder-led organization." Jon Lowe, also a Managing Director at the Arlington, Virginia-based search firm, praised Poindexter's "ability to combine strategic thinking with disciplined execution" and his track record in "complex, project-driven environments."

Poindexter brings more than 25 years of C-suite experience in building and leading sales, finance, and business development operations. Throughout his career, he has navigated complex growth initiatives, capital markets transactions, and strategic investments. Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President of Power/Grid Development at CAM Integrated Solutions, an energy services provider founded in 2015 that offers engineering, design, procurement, fabrication, automation, and construction management across the oil, gas, and renewable energy sectors. Poindexter's experience in infrastructure-focused, project-driven businesses mirrors the operational complexity at Climalock, which custom manufactures insulated panels for industrial storage tanks.

Climalock manufactures custom-built insulation panels for industrial storage tanks, offering both new installations and replacement systems. Founded in 2013, the company operates from a facility in Warsaw, Missouri, where it designs and fabricates panels for temperature control applications across multiple industries. The company emphasizes its ability to match existing panel profiles or create unique designs, leveraging in-house machinery to build products tailored to customer specifications. Its customer base spans the continental United States and Canada, positioning it at the intersection of industrial manufacturing and energy efficiency solutions.

The appointment signals Climalock's intention to transition from founder-led management to professional operations, a move that typically precedes accelerated growth initiatives or serves as a prerequisite for capital restructuring. The explicit mention of "guiding a critical founder transition" suggests the founder may be stepping back from day-to-day operations, possibly to advisory or board roles. With an executive search firm's involvement and emphasis on building "systems, processes, and leadership infrastructure needed to scale the business," the appointment indicates Climalock's board and stakeholders are positioning the company for geographic expansion and potentially deeper penetration into adjacent industrial verticals. Poindexter's energy sector background and experience with capital-intensive, project-based delivery suggests the board sees growth opportunities in regulated industries or customers with complex procurement requirements that demand sophisticated project management capabilities.
