Geneva-headquartered Edmond de Rothschild (EdR) has appointed Jonathan Atlani as Chief Executive for its Middle East operations, effective 18 August.
Jonathan succeeds Laith Al Kurdi, who served as interim CEO following the resignation of former MENA CEO Ali Raza in August 2024. Al Kurdi will remain with the bank in his original role as a Dubai-based private banker.
Atlani joined the Swiss private bank in 2019 and has held a range of senior positions, most recently serving as chief operating officer of the external asset manager (EAM) desk. Before joining EdR, he has held roles at UBS and KPMG France.
Based in Dubai, Atlani will lead a coordinated approach to servicing the firm’s Middle Eastern clients through EdR’s regional desks in Dubai, Switzerland, Monaco, and Luxembourg. He will report to Cynthia Tobiano, deputy CEO of Edmond de Rothschild.
The appointment comes as Edmond de Rothschild ramps up its regional presence following the opening of its Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) office in 2023.
