EDGE Group, headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, announced the appointment of Hamad Al Marar as the new Managing Director and CEO, effective from February 1, 2024. Al Marar steps into this leadership role after serving four years on the group's senior management team, including as president of the Missiles & Weapons cluster. He takes over from Mansour AlMulla, who returns to ADQ Group after a successful two-year term at EDGE.

EDGE highlighted in a recent statement that Al Marar will leverage his extensive leadership capabilities and his deep-rooted experience in the UAE's defence sector to propel the group into its next growth phase. As a prominent advanced technology and defence group globally, EDGE is set to further diversify and enhance its portfolio, extending its reach across various domains within both the defence and civilian sectors.

H.E. Faisal Al Bannai, Chairman of EDGE Group, commended Al Marar's significant contributions and expertise in the industry, stating, "Hamad is a distinguished figure in the UAE’s defence and advanced technology arenas. His exceptional leadership at the Missiles & Weapons cluster, coupled with his extensive experience in senior roles within the sector, positions him well to spearhead EDGE’s international expansion and innovation efforts."

Al Bannai expressed confidence in Al Marar’s ability to drive the group toward exploring new opportunities and achieving its strategic goals, positioning EDGE as a global leader in designing and producing cutting-edge products and solutions across air, land, sea, and space sectors.

Al Bannai also acknowledged Mansour’s critical role in EDGE's success, highlighting his contributions to making the group a robust, innovative organization known for its technological prowess in advanced defence manufacturing and workforce development. He extended his best wishes to both Mansour and Hamad in their future endeavors.

Entering 2024, EDGE operates as an expansive network of 25 companies, offering over 160 sophisticated solutions and services, and employs more than 10,000 staff from 88 different nationalities. With operations in over 50 countries and a substantial order book exceeding USD 5 billion, of which a third is from exports, EDGE continues to strengthen its position on the global stage.

Originally established in November 2019 by Al Bannai, EDGE consolidates over 25 entities from Emirates Defence Industries (EDIC), Emirates Advanced Investments Group (EAIG), Tawazun Holding, and other organizations, aiming to equip the UAE with top-tier defence capabilities.
