Preng & Associates Announces Placement of Chief Human Resources Officer at Caturus Amid Landmark LNG Project Milestone

Mary Kenner has been appointed Chief Human Resources Officer of Caturus Energy LLC, the Houston-based integrated natural gas and liquefied natural gas producer, effective May 20, 2026. Preng & Associates, the energy-focused executive search firm, facilitated the placement as Caturus advances toward a landmark $21.25 billion investment decision on its Commonwealth LNG export terminal in Louisiana.

Kenner brings over 25 years of human resources leadership experience across large-scale energy organizations. She previously served as Chief Human Resources Officer of Freeport LNG, one of the largest LNG export facilities in the United States. Before that, she held senior leadership roles at Shell Trading, TXU Energy, and Swift Energy Company. David Preng, partner at Preng & Associates, noted that Kenner's experience aligning human capital strategy with large-scale infrastructure and energy operations positions her to support Caturus' continued platform expansion. Her LinkedIn profile indicates education from Southern Methodist University's Cox School of Business and identifies her as a results-driven business professional with extensive domestic experience in the sector.

Caturus, founded by Kimmeridge and backed by a consortium including Mubadala Energy and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, combines upstream natural gas production with LNG export capabilities. The company's Caturus Energy subsidiary operates more than 1 billion cubic feet equivalent per day of net production across approximately 280,000 net acres in Texas, primarily in the Eagle Ford and Austin Chalk formations. Commonwealth LNG, the second pillar of the platform, represents a 9.5 million tonnes per annum facility under construction near Cameron Parish, Louisiana. The project achieved its Final Investment Decision in May 2026 following successful financing closure and long-term offtake agreements with international buyers including EQT LNG Trading, Glencore, Mercuria, Petronas LNG, and Aramco Trading Americas.

The appointment signals Caturus' preparation for significant workforce scaling as Commonwealth LNG advances toward first production expected by 2030 and the company pursues organic production growth to approximately 1 billion cubic feet equivalent per day. The timing aligns with the company's acquisition of SM Energy's Galvan Ranch assets in South Texas, completed in April 2026, which added 60,000 net acres and expanded production capacity. Preng & Associates had previously assisted Caturus on the placement of Chief Executive Officer David Lawler in 2024 when the business operated as Kimmeridge Texas Gas. Kenner's LNG terminal and large energy organization background appears tailored to support the integration of increasingly complex workforce demands across both upstream production and downstream liquefaction operations in a capital-intensive, safety-critical industry.
